New Orleans Hornets Preview

The Hornets will be much improved this year simply because they are healthy. The tough thing is they the play in the toughest division, BY FAR!! Let’s look at the team:

Projected starting lineup with last year’s stats:
Stats follow this format – Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, FG percentage & Minutes

PG – Chris Paul
17.3 – 4.4 – 8.9 – 1.84 – 0.05 – 44% – 37 minutes

SG – Morris Peterson
8.9 – 3.3 – 0.7 – 0.63 – 0.17 – 43% – 21 min

SF – Peja Stojakovic
17.8 – 4.2 – 0.8 – 0.62 – 0.31 – 42% – 33 min

PF – David West
18.3 – 8.1 – 2.2 – 0.81 – 0.73 – 48% – 37 min

C – Tyson Chandler
9.5 – 12.4 – 0.9 – 0.51 – 1.77 – 62% – 34 min

Key Bench Players

Rasual Butler
Bobby Jackson
Julian Wright
Cedric Simmons
Hilton Armstrong

Chris Paul should duplicate the numbers from last season. Morris Peterson and Peja are strictly scorers, so don’t expect much more from them. David West is a very underrated player because he scores and rebounds well, but not great, so he gets over looked on draft day.

Tyson Chandler will average a double double for the first time in his career and fight with Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett for the rebounding title again. Big Big year for him.

Hilton Armstrong is a very nice prospect, but he needs the minutes to prove what he can do. I like him a lot.
