Celtics – Lakers Rivalry Renewed????????

I’m watching ESPN and they are discussing the renewal of the Celtics – Lakers rivalry and all I can think is…… ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! STOP SEARCHING FOR A DAMN STORY AND JUST REPORT THE FREAKING SPORTS NEWS!!!!! Here are the reasons they are NOT a rivalry.

  1. For a rivalry to be there, both teams must be on the same level, or at the very least, the lesser team win a good percentage when they face each other. They have played once this year and the Celtics beat them in convincing fashion! Don’t just look at the final score. The Lakers were never really a threat to win!
  2. The Celtics are the class of the league. The Lakers have started out hot, but they’ll fizzle, like they always do in the “Kobe Against the World” era.
  3. When Kendrick Perkins posts 21 points and 9 rebounds on you… you are not a good team.
  4. When Bruce Bown scores 23 points on you… you are not a good team (No, I am not letting that one go. It was pathetic).

Boston is great and a true title contender this year, while the Lakers will be fighting for the bottom of the playoffs in the West.

No rivalry here.

I am really happy with the start of the season; the Lakers have been a pleasant surprise this year. They have managed to put the Kobe trade drama behind them and focus on playing basketball, by the way I think he is staying with the Lakers the book I bet with http://WWW.Wagerweb.com NBA Lines has the odds oh him leaving at 20/1 so about a 4% chance of him leaving, hope they are right and he sticks around long enough for other players to evolve and have a shot at a championship

This season expect great games from the LA lakers. As mentioned in this Andrew Bynum website, the Bynum and Bryant team-up was good on and off the court. Not to mention the accurate perimeter shot of Jordan farmar, the talented point guard from UCLA.

i hope you feel like a f***in idot. the Lakers will fizzle, hell nah the celtics are what fizzled you idiot. The o so great celtics went to a game 7 with the ATLANTA HAWKS AND THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!!! those were the two worst teams in the playoffs. and they will go to a game 7 with detroit. the lakers who you said will fight for a spot,,,have the top seed and are already in the finals with nobody even contesting them. no game 7’s. 1 sweep, 1 6 game series, and not to mention knockin the old champs out in 5. the east isn’t even competition for the west. so get ready for the celtics to get there ass whooped and put u in your place…well if they could even get to the finals knowing that its so hard for them to even win consistently

Wow, not really an accurate prophecy is it. Kinda wished you would’ve taken that blog post back now right? It’s called Pau Gasol and the Lamar Odom comes back from injury and the existence of NBA trades. Try to see Kendrick Perkins post 21 points this time. Celtics-Lakers rivalry for the 2008 NBA Playoffs! I’m stealing that picture btw for my display picture (thumbs up)

Can you update this website, cuz the Lakers have won over BETTER teams to get INTO THE FINALS (SPURS, JAZZ, NUGGETS) than your CELTICS than nearly got beaten out of the playoffs TWICE. It’ll be an exciting series, though. GO LAKERS

Looks like the Lakers – who were in the Finals as recently as 2004 – are back.

Looks like the Celtics – “class of the league” – squeaked by the sub-.500 opponents in their quest to prove equality with the Lakers.

    Bring it on.

Well, good to know that you were very wrong, and that your arguments were garbage.

May the best team win. And it ain’t the Celtics.
